ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an ideal role for a wanna-be entrepreneur who wants to first learn the ropes in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The role will likely evolve as you prove what you can do. In brief, you would be responsible for making stuff happen. Different things on different days. Some things strategic some very executional. Some stuff above your experience level, some stuff below it. In short, nothing different to a typical day for an entrepreneur founder of a company. Some representative examples could be contributing facts to product discussions by reviewing competitor websites, managing outsourced contractors doing translations, figuring out good information sources for various destinations, building a process to review and filter tens of thousands of photos in a cost effective way, testing the product under development, helping drive an SEO/advertising strategy, evaluating and negotiating various 3rd party services. Not all on the same day! Its a cool opportunity and several of my previous interns have had in this role have gone on to found their own companies and raise their own investment. 

Initially your role would be primarily about managing our content: By automating and outsourcing work we’re building databases of events, hotels and sights (probably the biggest in the world). We need someone to manage the workers that are doing the different jobs, optimize the process and curate the content to make sure we have a top quality product.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You need to be a quick and smart problem solver, if you don't like trying to solve problems (especially those that you are not qualified to solve) then you don't need to apply. As the answers to most problems are found somewhere on the web, you need to be really efficient at finding online what you need to find fast. You need to have the management skills to both manage your time and the various 3rd party deliverables that you will be responsible for making happen. Expect to juggle as many balls as you can handle. It helps if you like travel.
